Rigging a traditional sailing ship

The rigging workshop in Norheimsund

The skill of rigging a traditional sailing ship is getting harder to come by. At the ship preservation centre in Norheimsund we have the last years built a new rigging workhop and now have a rigger employed, specializing in traditional gaff rigs.

Ship’s smith and ropeyard

When needed, we get fittings produced by our blacksmith, and we use hemp rope made at our ropeyard.

We also work with other materials, to our customers spesifications.
