Experience the exhibition Hvileåret – a part of Amber Ablett´s project – in Kabuso this autumn!

Hvileåret: hvile, vekst og aktivisme is a multi year, participatory and artistic-research project lead by artist, Amber Ablett.
Kabuso Art Centre commissioned the project to be housed at Storeteigen bydgetun between January and December 2022, as a place of gathering, community, investigation and rest.

As a research project, Hvileåret is focused on rest within activism, liberation and social justice work and facilitated through workshops, residencies and collective thinking.

Rest becomes an act of resistance in a society that constantly ignores, dismisses, belittles and suppresses the experience of the humans within it. For those who fight for their existence, becoming overwhelmed and exhausted is often the result which makes sustainable action ungraspable.
